Would I like to be a host?

Dancers who come to Exchanges aren’t fussy and they even enjoy roughing it.  You aren’t offering them B&B service and you don’t need to have a spare room with a comfy double bed. They’ll more than happily sleep on the sofa, a blow up bed, even a space on the living room floor.  And be creative – two girls will happily share a double bed, boys and girls are modest and generally don’t need separate rooms, three of four people will have no problem sharing in the living room.  Plus they’ll be quiet and considerate – so the housemates need not worry about being woken up in the early hours and they won’t raid your fridge – unless you offer that is!

If I want to be a host what do I need to think about?

  • How many people can you host?
  • How close to town are you – is it walking distance, or might you need a taxi/car to get about?
  • Do you have any pets (some guests might be allergic)?
  • Would your flat mates / parents mind a swing invasion?
  • Guests usually are looking for a bed for the three days of the exchange – Friday, Saturday and Sunday – can you do this?
  • Will you want to stay until the very end of the parties every night, or go home at a modest time?
